Uri’s wings
expanded to their full breadth. As his feathers hummed and synchronized with
his brethren, the Infinite’s light entered through his head. His physical self
merged with his mind and spirit. The sensation like he had jumped into an
ice-cold lake, a startling jolt Uri had learned to expect.
He mouthed the
chant of mercy but focused on Razi. He desperately needed to touch his lover’s
mind one last time.
Their telepathic
connection wavered, but he refused to give up.
One last time, the Infinite, I beg of you, let me
touch his mind one last time.
Relief made his
knees weak at the familiar tingle in his skull.
