The inspiration behind On Shaky Ground…
On Shaky Ground was originally written as part of an anthology that featured characters with disabilities and about the time I was searching for ideas, I was on a conference panel with Alice Eakes. I remember listening to her speak while I was on the panel, trying to listen, and having the idea for this story start to take shape in the back of my mind. It was a pretty awesome experience. During the writing process Alice answered my questions and was amazingly helpful. I’m so grateful to her.
On top of that, the other part of the inspiration if the fact that I love this particular trope. The boss, employee trope really speaks to me and I love reading these kinds of stories as well. So I put everything together and my mind let it mix and the result was On Shaky Ground. I hope you like it.
